Preheat the broiler. Halve the tomatoes and place them on a rack in a broiler pan. Broil for 5-7 minutes, until browned. Scoop the seeds out of the tomatoes. Place the tomatoes, pimentos, jalapeno pepper, and almonds in a food processor or blender and pulse until purÄed. With the motor running, dribble in the olive oil until the mixture is thick. Season with salt and pepper.
